Kathryn Coulter Rhodes serves as Partner with Rural Support Partners. Currently, she works with Opportunity Appalachia as a Program Manager to support communities across five states prepare for community development real estate investment projects. Kathryn is also the lead data guru for all our business management consulting projects. She brings over a decade of experience in nonprofit management and community development.
Beginning with RSP in 2013 as a Rural Fellow, Kathryn managed the day-to-day operations of the Appalachia Funders Network. She then expanded her responsibilities and managed a national philanthropic engagement campaign. Kathryn has developed a niche in RSP for data and mapping impact of client efforts. She is an expert in conducting independent evaluations, designing and analyzing surveys, and mapping client information on ArcGIS.
Prior to joining RSP, Kathryn served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Appalachian coal country where she supported community development projects. She earned her Master’s in Geography from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She researched the political ecology of organic cotton in West Africa. Kathryn’s undergraduate degree is in International Studies and French from Hope College.
Kathryn serves as treasurer for Meals on Wheels of Asheville-Buncombe County. She lives in Asheville with her husband, very energetic and active toddler, and two polar opposite dogs.
